This yoga is practiced in a room temperature environment.
Yoga means to “yoke” or “union” in the Sanskrit language. Yoga is a practice used to promote health, harmony and self-awareness. In our traditional yoga practices we do not provide extra external heat or humidity. This allows for the body to warm from the inside out. As anything is in life “too much of one thing is not good”. That is why we offer you the opportunity to have a “hot” and “not hot” experience. Creating balance helps to honour our body, mind and spirit.
All levels welcome. This class will emphasize the basics of yoga. Come and learn everything from the etiquette of yoga to the postures and pranayama (breath work). You will learn to feel comfortable with the unique language of yoga.

Vinyasa yoga is often faster paced, and the asana (postures) are linked together in a series of movements that are synchronized with the breath. Much emphasis is placed on the breath and the transition in and out of the asana. Generally speaking, upward movements correlate with inhalations of the breath, and downward movements with exhalations. The continual movements, from one pose to another, gives you an added cardiovascular benefit.
